🌳 Our Story

It Started With a Dad, His Son, and a Whole Lot of Leaves.

When our family moved to Big Canoe, Georgia, we had no idea that a few fallen leaves would eventually lead to a family business.

Growing up, I earned spending money mowing lawns around the neighborhood. So when our son, Noah, turned 13, I figured it was time he had the same opportunity to learn the value of hard work and earn a little money of his own.

There was just one problem.

Big Canoe doesn't exactly have a lot of lawns to mow.

What we do have is leaves. Lots and lots of leaves.

So I told Noah, "Well, son, I guess we're blowing leaves."

And that's where Red Clay began.

From Blowing Leaves to Building Something Bigger

What started as a father-and-son project quickly became something more.

Neighbors began asking if we could help with other things around their properties. A little cleanup here, some landscaping there, hauling debris, spreading pine straw, trimming shrubs, pressure washing—you name it.

And our answer was usually pretty simple.

"Sure, we can help with that."

It didn't take long to realize there was a genuine need in our community for dependable people willing to lend a hand.

My wife, Tabatha, jumped right in alongside us. From splitting firewood and hauling debris to laying pine straw and tackling landscaping projects, she became every bit as involved as Noah and me.

Before we knew it, our little family operation had grown into something much bigger than we originally imagined.

On June 30, 2025, we officially established Red Clay Home & Outdoor Services.

What began with a couple of leaf blowers grew into a fully insured, veteran-owned family business with dedicated equipment, a growing team, and a commitment to serving our neighbors throughout Big Canoe and the surrounding communities.

Growing With Our Community

As Red Clay grew, so did our understanding of what homeowners in our community really needed.

We discovered that many of our neighbors weren't simply looking for someone to maintain their landscaping.

They needed someone they could trust to look after their property when they couldn't be there themselves.

For second-home owners, seasonal residents, and homeowners preparing to sell, having a dependable local presence can make all the difference.

That realization helped shape the next chapter of Red Clay.

We expanded our focus to develop our Second Home Watch and Listing Watch programs, providing ongoing property oversight, routine checks, and personalized attention for homeowners and Realtors.

While we continue to offer select outdoor maintenance and property services, these programs have become the heart of what we do.

And in many ways, they reflect the same philosophy that started everything.

A Family Business, Rooted in Service

Before starting Red Clay, Tabatha and I each spent careers serving in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant and Chief Master Sergeant, respectively.

Our military careers taught us the importance of accountability, integrity, attention to detail, and following through on our commitments.

Those values didn't disappear when we retired.

They're part of how we approach our business, our customers, and the community we're proud to call home.

Today, Red Clay remains a locally owned and family-operated business. We're your neighbors. We live here, we understand the unique needs of mountain properties, and we take pride in helping the people who make this community special.

And while our daughter, Jasmine, has made her home in Panama City, Florida, she's every bit a part of the Andrews family behind Red Clay. Our business may have started with a father and son blowing leaves, but the family behind it has always been bigger than that.

Still Rooted in the Same Simple Idea

Red Clay has certainly come a long way from a dad and his son blowing leaves.

But the reason we started hasn't changed.

We believe good neighbors look out for one another. We believe in doing what we say we're going to do. And we believe that whether someone needs help cleaning up their property or keeping an eye on their second home, they deserve dependable, personal service.

We're grateful for the neighbors who gave us our first opportunities, the customers who've placed their trust in us, and the community that continues to help our little family business grow.
